Several words about X JAPAN from SUGIZO's interview (2008.10.31)
I:In March you played at the X JAPAN reunion lives. What kind of impact did that leave on you? SUGIZO: Well... X JAPAN is definitely so abnormal (laughs). X JAPAN is not a normal band (laughs). X JAPAN is a huge project; it's so difficult and complicated, but musically beautiful. At first, I didn't want to play that music, it was too heavy for me. Of course hide was like my brother. I thought no one could do that position, but maybe Yoshiki thought that "maybe SUGIZO can do that."
Should we expect to see you onstage at the upcoming X JAPAN shows? SUGIZO: Yes, maybe! (smiles)

Live REPORT : Warning Contains SPOILERS don't read if you want to watch the footage without ruining any surprises
YOSHIKI and TOSHI surprised fans waiting in one of the cinemas at Ropongi Hills Tokyo with a surprise performance at 10:30pm on the dot, of Endless rain. THeir were police and security making a line infront of the cinema goers to avoid anyone racing forward in the excitement. (I was somewhere else far away from tokyo at another cinema)
They then moved to Akasaka which took about 30mins, and fans sung endless rain watching video footage in anticipation of their arrival at the venue. Once Toshi and Yoshiki entered Akasaka the live started with a piano intro of blue blood with Toshi on vocals, followed by Blue Blood performed at full speed!!! Toshi's vocals were back to that raspy scream from the blue blood days. He was abosutely on fire.. 1000 times better than in March and May, no cracks, no misses, no out of breath, flawless.
Yoshiki's drumming was spot on and they really ripped through the set list without a hitch. Toshi was screaming and working the crowd so much it was amazing.. unbelievable voice.
Sugizo's handling of hide's solo's was fantastic... the MCing by both Toshi and Yoshiki was really funny and cute too. All the members looked like they were having the time of their life as they smiled and joked with each other.
At the end of the concert a video revealed all the planned locations for the world tour.. i cant remember all of them but new locations included Los Angeles, Germany, China and there were quite a few more.. ill have to go back and check.. of course the dates were marked as X;) as they havent been finalised yet. (Madison square garden, thailand and the patient ppl of france will get another chance too it was revealed).
Setlist (What I can remember)
Endless Rain X JAPAN film footage (a collage of every live up till 1997 was shown Akasaka waited for Toshi and Yoshiki to move from their secret performance in ropongi hills) World Anthem ~ Prologue Blue Blood (with a piano intro) Rusty Nail Orgasm X Piano solo Tears IV Drum Solo Kurenai Say Anything ? (not sure but for the curtain call)
Opinions: I have only been to the reunion lives and watched X on DVDs till now, but from every bit of video footage I have seen, I truly felt this was Toshi's best ever vocal performance~ to anyone who thought he had somehow 'lost it', you better check out the footage.. Yoshiki's drumming was also back to his best.
Think of march and may as a warm up and that X JAPAN made their comeback last night, because they were back!! a mix of Blue Blood era vocals and speed.. and the showmanship of Dahlia tour final, it was an amazing night full of surprises.
Everyone who attended the cinema lives and the concert got an ID card, will write again when I remember more!
OPINIONS (Cont'd) :
While making this mini report I've already come across whining haters, who think the concert was too short and that the setlist was too short.. and that they wanted a new song to be played... Some people are never happy..Sure looking at the setlist, it seems short. And X made fans in Akasaka wait till 23:16PM before they blew everyone away with Blue Blood. But, If they paid the REAL price (8500yen) to be metres away from X Japan and didnt buy for 1000 of dollars on auction maybe they'd see the value....an awesome performance.. plenty of fan service.. but no~~ the setlist isnt long enough?) .. I am sure anyone on this board would happily swap places and be at the concert. I always think, and these are the same ppl that said they would be happy if Toshi only cameback and sang on Without You.. or 'I dont want yoshiki to another drum solo' (because lets face it, each time he does one he's damaging his body in someway).. My those ppl have changed their tune.
To anyone who thinks like this.. get used to it. Especially in a small venue like that. Yoshiki couldnt exactly go off stage for 30mins or whatever like he can during the dome shows.. and it wouldnt have worked to have VUK fill out the setlist in this case..plus its obvious that from the setlist that X wanted to absolutely bring the house down by choosing to play only 1 ballad at Akasaka. Without you was not played.. why? It wouldnt have worked in a live house venue. The whole idea is to have everyone pumped.
GOODS:
At the cinema I was at their were 2 types of X Japan count down shirts M/L sizes of each, and a Yoshiki countdown shirt and parker, again in M/L size. I managed to get a yoshiki shirt despite being told only 100 of each good was in stock (there would have been 800 ppl at the cinema so i guess everyone had given up hope of getting a shirt and just didnt bother to try.. as i had almost given up).
anyways.. to the ppl that appreciate the band as it is I hope you enjoyed or enjoy the gig~ lets look forward to the next one in HK on the 17th of this month!!!!! and HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!
p.s. Sorry about the setlist.. at the moment my head is still spinning..

Live REPORT : Осторожно содержит спойлеры, не читайте, если не хотите смотреть запись без всяких сюрпризов. В 10.30 YOSHIKI и TOSHI удивили фанатов ожидающих в одном из кинотеатров Ropongi Hills Tokyo неожиданным исполнением Endless rain. Полиция и секьюрити образовали перед людьми ограждение, чтобы никто на радостях не ломанулся вперед. (я в это время был в другом кинотеатре далеко от Токио) Затем они отправились в Akasaka, это заняло примерно пол часа, в это время фанаты смотрели видео подборку, пели Endless rain и с нетерпением ждали их прибытия. Когда Toshi и Yoshiki вошли в Akasaka концерт начался с исполненного на рояле вступления к blue blood, за которым последовала Blue Blood уже на полной скорости!!! Голос Toshi снова стал таким, каким был во времена blue blood. Он был великолепен! В 1000 раз лучше, чем в марте и в мае, никаких срывов, пропусков, сбившегося дыхания – безупречно! Игра Yoshiki была безошибочной, они сыграли все просто идеально. Toshi кричал и работал с залом, это было восхитительно… невероятный голос. То как Sugizo исполнил соло партии hide – это просто фантастика … MCing(извините, не долшло что это) Toshi и Yoshiki было очень смешным и трогательным. Было похоже, что все члены группы наслаждаются происходящим, они улыбались и шутили друг с другом.
В конце шоу был показан список всех предполагаемых места прохождения мирового тура… я не могу вспомнить их все, но там точно были Лос Анджелес, Германия, Китай и многое другое… мне надо будет это перепроверить, ну а даты, конечно были обозначены как Х , ведь они еще не утверждены. (Madison square garden, Тайланд и терпеливые французы получат еще один шанс)

(не уверен, во время вызова на сцену) Мнения: До сегодняшнего дня, я был только reunion lives и смотрел концерты Х на DVD, но исходя из каждого просмотренного видео, я могу сказать - сегодня было лучшее вокальное выступление Toshi, и если кто-то думает, что он «потерял его», то вам лучше посмотреть запись. Игра Yoshiki тоже была на высочайшем уровне. Можете считать выступления в марте и в мае разогревом, а настоящее возвращение X JAPAN произошло прошлой ночью! Они действительно вернулись!! Это была смесь вокальной эры и скорости Blue Blood, зрелищности Dahlia tour final. Это была восхитительная, полная сюрпризов ночь. Все кто был на кино-лайвах и на концерте получили ID, я напишу еще, когда вспомню!
Мнения (против) OPINIONS (Cont'd) : Пока я делал этот мини отчет я уже наткнулся на жалобы на то, что концерт был слишком коротким, и что композиций было слишком мало, и что хотелось бы, чтобы Х сыграли новую песню… Некоторые люди вечно недовольны… конечно, если посмотреть на сет лист, он кажется коротким. И Х заставили фанатов в Akasaka ждать до 23.16, прежде чем взорвали зал Blue Blood, но если бы они заплатили Настоящую цену (8500 йен) за то, чтобы быть в нескольких метрах от Х, а не покупали билеты по 1000 долларов на аукционе, может быть тогда они оценили бы …восхитительное выступление…массу фан-сервиса, но нет – слишком короткий сет-лист! Я уверен, что любой человек на этом форуме с радостью поменялся с ними местами, чтобы оказаться на концерте. И я думаю, это были бы те же люди, которые говорили, что они были бы рады, если бы Toshi спел только Without You и они же говорят «я не хочу больше барабанных соло Yoshiki» (потому что давайте посмотрим правде в глаза – во время них он всегда получает травмы). Всем кто так думает… привыкайте! Особенно на такой маленькой площадке. Yoshiki не мог на пол часа уйти со сцены, как он может во время шоу в Токио доме, попытки включить в сет лист что-то из VUK не сработали бы. Кроме того, Х решили играть только одну балладу. Почему не сыграли Without you? Это тоже не сработало бы на такой площадке, идея была в том, чтобы раскачать всех. GOODS: В том кинотеатре, в котором был я, в продаже были 2 вида футболок X Japan count down размеров M/L и футболки Yoshiki countdown тех же размеров. Мне удалось купить футболку Йошики, не смотря на то, что мне сказали, что в продажу поступило только по 100 штук каждого вида (в кинотеатре было около 800 человек и мне кажется, большинство не стали даже пытаться заполучить футболку, я и сам почти сдался) Ну, в любом случае, надеюсь тем, кто любит группу понравился концерт, давайте ждать следующего – 17 числа… уже в этом месяце! И С новым годом!!! p.s. Извините за сетлист, у меня все еще кружится голова…
